Fichu
A fichu is a large, light kerchief, usually triangular, worn around the neck and shoulders and tucked into the bodice.
In the eighteenth century the fichu filled the low neckline of a gown with fine linen, muslin or lace, crossed at the front or tied behind. It added modesty and softness and could be changed daily.
