Mannequin
Also: dress form
A mannequin is a figure used to display or fit clothes; the word has also meant a live fashion model.
Shop mannequins display clothes; dress forms, or stands, let makers fit and drape. In early couture, “mannequin” also meant the women who modelled clothes for clients, the predecessors of today’s models.
