Yoke
A yoke is a fitted panel across the shoulders or hips from which the rest of the garment hangs, often gathered or pleated.
A yoke is a shaped piece that fits the body closely, usually across the shoulders of a shirt or the hips of a skirt, and carries the fuller part of the garment below it. Shirt yokes are often cut double for strength.
