Chantilly lace
Chantilly lace is a fine bobbin lace, usually black silk, with floral designs outlined in a thicker thread on a delicate net ground.
Chantilly lace is named after the town north of Paris where it was made. It is a bobbin lace whose motifs are outlined with a flat, heavier thread on a light ground, and it is especially associated with black silk shawls, veils and evening dress of the nineteenth century.
