Macramé
Macramé is a technique of making textiles by knotting cords or yarns in patterns, without needles, looms or hooks.
Macramé uses a few knots, the square knot and half hitches above all, repeated and combined into nets, fringes and solid panels. It has a long history in Arab and Mediterranean decorative work, was a sailors’ craft, and returned to popularity in the 1970s and again recently.
