Quilting
Quilting is sewing two or more layers of fabric together, usually with a padding between them, in lines or patterns of stitches.
A quilt sandwich has a top, a filling of wadding and a backing, held together by quilting stitches that also make a pattern. Quilted garments, from medieval padded jackets to eighteenth-century silk petticoats, were warm and decorative.
